UserTesting is a website and app testing platform that pays people for sharing feedback on digital products. Companies use the platform to learn how real users experience their websites, apps, prototypes, and other products.

The work is fairly simple. You are usually asked to complete a set of tasks while recording your screen and speaking your thoughts out loud. Some tests also include surveys or a live conversation with a researcher.

Before you can access paid tests, you need to apply and complete a practice test. The application takes around 15 to 20 minutes, and UserTesting normally reviews applications within a few days.

You do not need technical skills to become a tester. What matters more is being able to follow instructions, explain your thoughts clearly, and give useful feedback about what you experience.

The amount paid depends on the test type, length, and customer demand. UserTesting shows the exact reward before you take a test, so you know the payment before accepting it.

There is no fixed number of tests you can expect. UserTesting says most participants complete around one or two tests per week, although some people may receive more or fewer opportunities. Your profile, background, customer demand, and ratings can affect the number of invitations you receive.

All payments are made through PayPal. Standard test payments are usually sent 14 days after completion, giving UserTesting time to review the submitted work and handle any payment issues.

UserTesting accepts contributors from many countries around the globe. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently need to speak, read, and write English, French, or German during the application process.

The main drawback is that test availability is unpredictable. You may qualify for several tests one week and very few the next, so UserTesting works better as flexible extra income than as a main income source.
