PeoplePerHour

Description

PeoplePerHour is a freelance marketplace where businesses hire independent workers for short projects, ongoing work, and packaged services. Freelancers can offer skills such as writing, design, programming, marketing, translation, virtual assistance, and many other types of work.

The platform gives freelancers two main ways to find clients. You can browse posted projects and send proposals, or create fixed price Offers that clients can buy directly. Offers can start from £10, which makes them useful for packaging a simple service.

PeoplePerHour also uses an escrow system for project payments. Clients deposit money before work begins, and the funds remain protected until the agreed work is completed and the payment is released.

There is no registration fee or fee for searching projects. However, PeoplePerHour takes a service fee from your earnings based on your lifetime billing with each buyer. The rate is 20% below £250, 7.5% from £250 to £5,000, and 3.5% above £5,000.

This fee structure rewards repeat clients. Once you build a relationship with a buyer and earn more from that client, the percentage taken from later work becomes lower.

Freelancers can withdraw earnings through PayPal, Payoneer, or bank accounts. PeoplePerHour supports GBP, EUR, and USD balances, although the available withdrawal options depend on your account and location.

Payment is not always instant after completing a project. PeoplePerHour applies a clearing period before funds become available. Most freelancers fall under the standard 14 day period, while higher recent earnings can reduce this to seven or three days.

After funds become available, withdrawal requests are normally processed within two working days. PayPal and Payoneer transfers usually arrive within minutes after processing, while bank transfers can take longer.

PeoplePerHour can work well for freelancers who prefer both project bidding and ready made service listings. The main issue is competition, along with the relatively high 20% starting service fee for new buyer relationships.
