Studypool

Description

Studypool is an online tutoring platform where students post academic questions and tutors offer to help answer them. Tutors can work across subjects such as mathematics, science, business, economics, programming, writing, history, and many others.

Studypool

The platform works through a bidding system. Students post a question with a time limit and budget, then tutors can review the question and submit an offer.

If a student chooses your offer, you work through the Studypool platform and provide the requested help. The student reviews your answer, and the payment is released after approval or after 72 hours have passed from the question’s deadline.

This makes Studypool different from traditional tutoring sites. You do not need to build a schedule of recurring lessons. You can instead choose individual questions that match your knowledge and available time.

Tutors can also upload study documents and earn from students who purchase or access their materials. Studypool has a separate document section for this type of income.

The platform takes a commission from tutor earnings. According to Studypool, new tutors receive a 15% commission rate for their first five questions or until their first withdrawal, if that happens sooner. After that, commission rates depend on the tutor’s location and status.

You need at least $50 in your tutor balance before you can withdraw. The platform’s withdrawal page currently shows PayPal as an available withdrawal option.

The platform covers a wide range of academic subjects, which gives tutors with different areas of knowledge a chance to find relevant questions.

There are also rules around academic integrity. Tutors must provide help through the platform and follow Studypool’s rules. The company can withhold payments or suspend accounts for violations such as plagiarism, fake activity, or attempts to take students off the platform.

Public feedback is mixed, with complaints about payment issues and platform management alongside positive reviews from some tutors.
