TELUS Digital AI Community is the current name for the AI work that many people still associate with Lionbridge and TELUS International.

TELUS International changed its name to TELUS Digital in 2024. The company now runs a large AI Community made up of contributors who help improve search engines, AI systems, language models, and other digital products.

The work covers several areas. Projects can include search evaluation, online data analysis, content review, language work, data collection, transcription, and AI data annotation.

Current AI Community openings include Media Search Analyst, Online Data Analyst, Digital Content Evaluator, Internet Safety Evaluator, Content Reviewer, and Personalized Internet Assessor roles.

The exact work depends on the project and your location. Some jobs are built around checking search results, while others ask you to review online content or assess how well digital systems understand a particular language.

Language skills can be useful for many of these roles. TELUS Digital currently lists AI Community projects across many languages, including English, Japanese, German, Norwegian, French, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and others.

You normally apply for a specific project and complete the required qualification tests. TELUS Digital says the AI Community screening process can include language assessments, critical thinking tests, role-specific assessments, compliance checks, and identity verification.

The work is often part-time and remote. Current listings show several AI Community roles marked as remote and part-time, although availability depends heavily on your country and language.

Pay is not one fixed rate across the platform. Each project has its own pay terms, and some job listings provide the rate while others do not publish it publicly.

This means you should look at the exact project listing before applying. A search evaluator in one country may have very different pay from a language specialist working on another project.

TELUS Digital says its AI Community has more than one million contributors across more than 200 countries and territories. Its AI data operation covers more than 500 languages and dialects.

The biggest downside is that project availability is uneven. A project may only accept people from certain countries, require a particular language, or close applications after enough contributors have joined.

You also need to pass the required assessments. This can take time, and qualifying for one project does not mean you will automatically receive work from every other project.

There are also mixed reports from contributors about hiring, support, project access, and payment experiences. I would treat those reports as something to consider rather than as a fixed picture of every project.
