TestingTime is an established user research and product testing platform founded in 2015 in Zurich, Switzerland.

It connects companies with people who can test websites, mobile apps, software, services and physical products and provide feedback based on their experience. TestingTime currently recruits participants for both remote and in-person studies, depending on the project.

You do not need professional testing experience to join. After creating a profile, you provide information about yourself so TestingTime can match you with studies that need participants with your background.

When your profile matches a project, you receive an invitation and complete screening questions before being selected. Opportunities are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for some studies, so responding quickly can matter.

The studies can take different forms. You might participate in a usability test, answer questions about a product, complete an online survey, join a video interview or test a digital product with a researcher.

A typical study takes around 30 to 90 minutes, while individual studies can be shorter or longer. The company currently advertises average compensation of around €40, CHF 40, or £50 per study, although the actual amount depends on the particular study and is communicated before participation.

After successfully completing a study, the compensation is added to your TestingTime wallet. You can request payment once you meet any applicable withdrawal threshold shown in your wallet. Current payment options are PayPal or bank account, and TestingTime states that payments are normally received within approximately 10 business days after requesting a payout.

TestingTime can be a useful option for people interested in paid user research because individual studies can pay considerably more than ordinary survey sites. The main limitation is availability. Invitations depend on your profile and the requirements of each research project, so you should not expect a consistent amount of work every week.
