The platform also provides support for freelancers. FreeUp says its team offers 24/7 support and helps freelancers manage their work through the marketplace.

Payments are made weekly. The current freelancer FAQ says workers are paid through PayPal or Payoneer, with payments covering the previous billing period on a one-week delay.

One thing that makes FreeUp different is that you are not expected to spend all your time sending proposals across a huge public job board. The platform introduces freelancers to client opportunities after they join the marketplace.

The downside is the screening process. FreeUp says it looks for the top 1% of applicants, so getting accepted can be harder than joining a basic freelance site.

You also need to remember that acceptance does not guarantee steady work. Your results depend on your skills, rate, client demand, and the projects available at the time.
